The Fox and the Grapes
One sunny day, a hungry fox was walking in a vineyard. He saw a beautiful bunch of grapes hanging from a high vine. The fox was very tempted to eat the grapes, but they were out of his reach. He jumped, and he jumped, but he couldn't reach the grapes.
The fox thought to himself, "These grapes must not be ripe yet, or they wouldn't be hanging so high up." He looked at the grapes and thought, "They're probably sour anyway. I don't want them."
The fox then walked away with his head held high, pretending like he didn't want the grapes in the first place.
But the truth was, the fox really did want the grapes. He was just trying to make himself feel better by pretending like he didn't care about them.
The moral of the story is that sometimes we pretend not to care about something when we can't have it. It's better to try and fail than to not try at all and pretend like we didn't want it anyway. Like the fox, we should be honest with ourselves and not make excuses for our failures.
