India at World Athletics Championships!
In the earlier years, Anju Bobby George, hailing from Kerala, etched her name in history as India’s first and only female athlete to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships till date. Her remarkable achievement came in 2003 when she secured a long jump bronze medal in Paris following a whooping jump of 6.70m.
This year India's performance at the World Athletics Championships was notable, Neeraj Chopra become India’s first-ever World Athletics Championship gold medallist with 88.17m throw in javelin final. Two others Kishore Jena & DP Manu also impressed at big stage by finishing in top 6. Parul Chaudhary smashed the national record in women’s 3000m steeplechase and the 4x400m Men’s relay team finished in fifth place, attained their best ever result.
