In the tapestry of India's rich history, the postal system stands as an enduring thread that weaves together the stories of millions. As we celebrate National Post Day today, a flood of nostalgia washes over us, reminiscent of an era when handwritten letters carried the warmth of emotions and the excitement of distant connections.
Did you know when Postal system was started the post boxes were green in colour, after receiving complaints that the boxes cannot be seen, the colour was changed to red. How can we forget about stamps, some of us were ‘philatelist, a person who collects & studies stamps.
India has 23 postal circles and 9 postal zones including Army Post Office. Post offices in Indian follow a 6-digit PIN Code system, which was introduced in India in 1972.
In an era where emails and instant messaging dominate, National Post Day beckons us to rediscover the joy of tangible connections. As we celebrate this day, let us take a moment to appreciate the enduring spirit of India Post, which has, for generations, served as a silent messenger of love, hope, and human connection.
