G20 Summit - Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam

The G20 Summit in 2023 took place in New Delhi, India, from September 9 to 10. The G20 is a significant international consortium comprising 19 individual nations and the European Union, representing approximately 85% of the global GDP, over 75% of global trade, and nearly two-thirds of the world's population. The event was chaired by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had assumed India's presidency on December 1, 2022, leading up to the summit in 2023. Under the Indian Presidency, the G20 in 2023 was focussed on the theme, 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'.

Prominent leaders who attended the G20 Summit in India included President Joe Biden of the United States, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and leaders from major economies worldwide. Notably absent were Xi Jinping of China and Vladimir Putin of Russia.

The G20 Summit serves as a platform for world leaders to discuss critical global issues, such as Climate Change Commitments, Global Economy, Health Initiatives, Digital Economy, Geopolitical Issues, Innovation and Technology and many Bilateral Meetings. This year The African Union became a full member of the G-20, After the EU, African Union is the second regional bloc to join the G20. The next G20 summit is planned at Brazil in 2024.
