Ever Forward, Hearts Meet: India's Para-athletes Soar to New Heights in Hangzhou!

The Hangzhou Asian Para Games 2023 also known as 4th Asian Para Games were a multi-sport event for Asian athletes with disabilities. The event saw 3,020 athletes compete in 502 medal events from October 22 to October 28, 2023. Originally scheduled to take place from 9 to 15 October 2022, the event was postponed to 2023 on 17 May 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As is the tradition of the event, since 2010, the Asian Para Games are usually held after every Asian Games in the same host country.

The official emblem of the 2022 Asian Para Games, "Ever Forward", was unveiled on 2 March 2020. The official motto, "Hearts meet, Dreams shine" was unveiled on the same day as the emblem. Similar to the motto of the Asian Games, it symbolises connectivity between the countries of Asia.

Indian para-athletes achieved a record 111 medals at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games, the most for the country in any major international multi-sport event. India has proudly collected 29 gold medals, 31 silver medals, and 51 bronze medals. In the overall leaderboard, India finished in 5th position which is also their best-ever standing.
