As a young girl I used to love everything that had to do with The Little Mermaid. However, after reading this book there are a few things that I don't like about it. The first being that even though it is aimed for a younger age group the book jumps around a lot and I felt that this may be hard for a young child to follow. The pictures also don't normally match up with the text. For example, in the book when the page talks about Ursula's eels flipping over the boat, it does not show a picture of this. I feel as though the reader would gain more from the book if there were more pictures describing the text. One thing I love about the book is the obvious princess, prince, evil villain characters. These arte typical traits of a traditional fantasy book and remind me of all the books and movies I used to love as a child.
